The Waldegrave Arms - Radstock
The Waldegrave Arms/ Radstock Hotel - Market Place - Radstock
History -
This Georgian style building was built in the early to mid 19th century.
Other than that there is very little other history available online..
The coalmines around Radstock were owned by the Waldegraves which is where the pubs name is likely to have originated from.
Hauntings -
There is allegedly the ghost of a former barmaid called Geraldine who was there in the 1940's
Activity includes lights going in and off, moving cutlery and other items and has been felt sitting on a bed.
Shadow figures have also been seen in the cellar, which are thought to be miners.. the whole area was a mining town with a 8 working collieries close to the town.
People have had physical reactions of being sick in the skittle alley and outside storage area, previously a stable.
It did run regular ghost hunt events too..

Thoughts/ Research
One paranormal team says that a murder took place on the 2nd floor, but this is to be verified.
Looking through the newspaper archives has turned up the following for history-
During the Election riots of 1885, the pub was central to the trouble in Radstock, a mob of over 2000 broke over 500 panes of glass in the pub by continually showering it with stones and large rocks and the Bell Hotel opposite was completely wreaked.
August 1876 - one of the victims of the Radstock Railway Crash was a waiter at the pub.
December 1850 - There was a terrible cart accident on the road outside Radstock, the man, a Mr George Rose who was the one of the proprietors of the Angel Inn, Bath had terrible injuries, he was taken to the Waldegrave Arms pub and subsequently 4 hours later succumbed to his injuries.
To be continued as further digging is carried out....
